Officers Investigate a No-Hit Shooting – Yesterday at approximately 11:03 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of E 2nd Street regarding an assault with a deadly weapon report. Upon arrival, officers contacted an uninjured male adult victim who stated he was parking his vehicle in a lot located in 5600 block of E 7th Street, when he collided with another driver who was also parking their vehicle. No injuries were reported from the collision. The driver of the vehicle, a male adult suspect, exited the vehicle attempted to engage the victim in a verbal dispute, as the victim remained in his vehicle. This resulted in the suspect revealing a firearm and discharging one round into the victim’s vehicle. The victim was not injured, and no other injuries were reported. The victim fled the scene and called police. The suspect fled in their vehicle towards an unknown direction. The investigation is ongoing.
