LBPD Blotter - Detectives arrest suspect responsible for at least two commercial burglaries

Burglary detectives have been investigating recent commercial burglaries in the downtown Long Beach area. Through their great work, they have identified and arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for at least two burglaries.

Suspect Corey Swayney, a 22-year-old resident of San Bernardino, was arrested on Oct. 26, 2023 near 4th Street and Orange Avenue. He was transported to Long Beach City Jail where he was booked for an outstanding warrant, commercial burglary, and drug related charges. He is being held without bail.

Detectives believe suspect Swayney is responsible for at least two commercial burglaries, listed below:

  • Oct. 13, 2023 in the 1900 block of East Broadway
  • Oct. 23, 2023 in the 00 block of Atlantic Avenue

 In both of these incidents, the suspect broke into the business and stole property from the business.
