LBPD Bike Officers locate and arrest two suspects for stealing $1000 worth of merchandise

On Feb.3, 2023 at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers were flagged down by employees of a shoe store located at 71 Aquarium Way regarding a theft that just occurred. The employees said two male adult suspects entered the store and, after a short while, walked out with various merchandise withan approximate value of $1,000.
The suspects were last seen running away, heading westbound towards an unknown location. Officers searched the general area where the suspects were last seen and located the first suspect in the 100 block of W. 1st Street. As officers approached the suspect, they saw several items of stolen merchandise and subsequently detained, arrested and transported the suspect to Long Beach City jail for booking. Shortly after locating the first suspect, patrol officers located the second suspect in the area of Broadway and Pine Avenue where he was also detained, arrested and transported to Long Beach City jail for booking.
The first suspect was identified as Raymond Young, a 37-year-old resident of Los Angeles, who was booked on one count of felony grand theft. Bail is set at $20,000. The second suspect was identified as Adrian Banks, a person experiencing homelessness in Long Beach, was booked on one count of felony grand theft, one count of felony receiving stolen property, and a parole violation. Bail is set at no bail.
