LBPD arrests suspect for making school threats

The Long Beach Police Department take all reports of school threats seriously and they are not tolerated in Long Beach.

On Oct. 20, 2022 at approximately 2:50 p.m., officers responded to the LBCC Pacific Coast Campus regarding a student who made verbal threats to school staff. Officers and Violent Crimes detectives immediately began investigating the threats while we worked with LBCC to implement a plan to keep students and staff safe. This morning, detectives arrested the suspect - Preston William Braxton, a 65-year-old resident of Pasadena, who was booked for criminal threats with the intent to terrorize. His bail is set at $50,000. The investigation is ongoing.
