LBPD Officers Conduct Traffic Stop and Seize Multiple Firearms and Drugs

On Nov. 11, 2022 at approximately 1:03 a.m., officers were driving in the area of Cherry Avenue and Anaheim Street, when they observed a vehicle execute a traffic violation.
This resulted in the officers conducting a traffic stop of the vehicle, where they contacted a male adult suspect. During their investigation, officers discovered that the suspect was on felony probation and was therefore violating the terms of his probation. After detaining and arresting the suspect, officers performed a probation compliance check at the suspect’s residence.
During their search, officers discovered two firearms, ammunition, high-capacity magazines, drugs and narcotics intended to be sold, and materials to build unserialized firearms. Following the suspect’s arrest, he was transported to Long Beach City jail where was booked. The suspect was identified as Robert James Brobst, a 27-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked on two counts of felony felon in possession of a firearm, one count of felony possession of a controlled substance while armed, one count of felony possession of a loaded firearm and not being the registered owner, one count of felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, one count of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of felony prohibited possessor in possession of a firearm. Bail was set at $560,000. The investigation is ongoing.
