NEW APPLICATIONS ONLY - There Are TWO Phases to the Application Process:

• Phase One Continued: Background Investigation, In-person Interview
• Phase Two: Psychological Evaluation, Firearm Training and Qualification.
• There are additional third-party fees, including Live Scan (*$93), Psychological Testing ($400), and Firearm Qualification ($275-$475). *Other rolling fees may apply.
• The remaining 50% license issuance fee will be due upon application approval.

RENEWAL APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS (LBPD CCW ONLY) – 

• Complete Application.
• Pay the one-time Renewal fee
• Complete Firearm Qualification from an authorized vendor.
• DISCLAIMER- IF YOU ARE RENEWING YOUR CCW BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1, 2026, DO NOT GET A LIVE SCAN.

**STARTING SEPTEMBER 1, 2026 DOJ WILL BE REQURING ALL RENEWAL APPLICANTS TO COMPLETE A NEW LIVESCAN WITH AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF $52 INCURED BY THE APPLCIANT. *If you are renewing your CCW license on or after September 1, 2026, click the link for our Live Scan form. Please do not use forms for/from another agency; fees will be shown at checkout.**

**ATTENTION NON–RESIDENT APPLICANTS**

Effective April 22, 2025, residents of U.S. states and territories other than California will be eligible to apply for a California CCW license under Penal Code sections 26150 through 26235 only if they are both:

(1) members of:

(a) the California Rifle & Pistol Association, Incorporated,
(b) Gun Owners of America, Inc.,
(c) Gun Owners of California, Inc., or
(d) The Second Amendment Foundation;
(e) Firearms Policy Coalition; AND

(2) not otherwise prohibited from possessing firearms under federal or California law

You must apply to the issuing agency of the jurisdiction you intend to spend time within the subsequent 12 months.  Please review the information on the issuing agency website for full instructions on what you will need to apply for a CCW.
