Washington Middle School Neighborhood Walks
The pilot Neighborhood Walks program will take place in the Washington Middle School Neighborhood from March 5, 2021 to May 1, 2021. This area includes the Los Angeles River to Long Beach Boulevard and Anaheim Street to Pacific Coast Highway.
Eight officers who normally work in the Washington Middle School area have been selected to participate in proactive community engagement during the afternoon and evening hours, several days a week. These officers will focus on building strong relationships with residents, community organizations, and businesses in the neighborhood as well as help address concerns and connect the community with resources. During this program, officers will also participate in and organize activities and meetings for the Washington Middle School Neighborhood.
