SOUTH DIVISION NEIGHBORHOOD WALKS
The East Village Neighborhood Walks program took place throughout South Division from March 1, 2022, to May 1, 2022. Officers will walk in strategically determined areas to engage with the community in nearby neighborhoods, parks, and businesses. The areas include the neighborhoods surrounding East Village and the Downtown Entertainment District.
Officers who normally work in South Division have been selected to participate in proactive community engagement during the afternoon and evening hours, several days a week. These officers will focus on building strong relationships with residents, community organizations, and businesses in the neighborhood as well as help address concerns and connect the community with resources. During this program, officers will also participate in and organize activities and meetings throughout the community.
