On Monday, February 10, 2014, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Long
Beach Police responded to the area of Artesia Boulevard and Myrtle
Avenue regarding shots fired.
When officers arrived, they discovered a male adult down on the
street, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper
torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was
pronounced deceased.
The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Robert Anthony Proano
of Long Beach. No suspect information is available at this
time. The shooting is being investigated as possibly gang
related. The investigation remains ongoing.
