Release Date: 2022-03-25

Last night at approximately 8:07 p.m., East Division Directed Enforcement Team (DET) officers were on patrol in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Junipero Avenue when they observed a vehicle with expired registration. Officers pulled the vehicle over and contacted the driver to advise him the vehicle would be towed due to the expired registration. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located and seized narcotics as well as cash. Officers arrested the driver, Johnnie Lee Brown III, a 31-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked for possession of a controlled substance for sale, transport/sell a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, and carry loaded handgun – not registered owner. His bail is set at $100,000.

Officers subsequently secured a search warrant for the driver’s residence in the 2200 block of Cedar Avenue. Officers arrested Davon Robinson, a 28-year-old, who was booked for possession of a firearm, prohibited possessor in possession of ammunition, false impersonation, and outstanding warrants. His bail is set at $170,000.
