Upon arrival, officers located evidence, including casings, indicating a shooting had occurred. Officers were unable to locate any victim or suspect on scene. Officers were later notified the victim had self-transported to a local hospital. Officers responded to the hospital and located the uncooperative victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. At this time, the motive for the shooting is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.

Upon arrival, officers contacted a witness who stated two male adult subjects were engaged in a dispute, when one subject fired a firearm into the air. The victim and suspect both fled the scene in separate vehicles prior to officers’ arrival. Officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers arrested the suspect and transported him to the Long Beach City Jail for booking. The suspect was identified as Modio Fernandez, a 33-year-old resident of the City of Lancaster.
