The Long Beach Police Department Youth Leadership Academy is a free weeklong program which provides a platform for Long Beach youth to develop essential leadership skills while fostering positive relationships with law enforcement. 

Through a series of engaging workshops, interactive discussions, and team-building exercises, participants will gain valuable insights into leadership principles, conflict resolution techniques, and community engagement strategies. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with law enforcement professionals to enhance interpersonal leadership development and increase career awareness in the public safety sector.

The Long Beach Police Department is excited to announce the 2025 Youth Leadership Academy (YLA), in effort to support the next generation of community leaders. This free of cost weeklong program will provide a platform for Long Beach high school students to develop essential leadership skills while fostering positive relationships with law enforcement.

Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Jordan High School.

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided to all attendees.
