Office of Constitutional Policing Administrator

Administrator Reid Branche-Wilson was appointed as the
Administrator of the Department's Office of Constitutional Policing in February 2022. Administrator Branche-Wilson oversees the Department’s efforts in meeting communitypublic safety concerns through a forward-looking evaluation of current policy, procedures, and training.

Prior to joining the Long Beach Police Department in 2022, Administrator Branche-Wilson worked for the Detroit Police Department. At DPD, he began his career as a data analyst, promoted to manager of the policy and research unit, and then to director where he oversaw the policy compliance review unit, the policy and research unit, and strategic projects. Some of his most notable achievements include coleading the mental health initiative which embedded social workers into the Detroit 911 call center, police response units, and homeless outreach teams; updating key Department policies including facial recognition, bias-based policing, and use of force; and improving the Department’s longstanding early intervention system. Administrator BrancheWilson worked closely with external partners, the civilian oversight board, and City Council to improve Department policy and practice.

Administrator Branche-Wilson holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Lake Forest College and a Master of Public Policy from University of Michigan.
