Security Services Division Commander

Commander Paul Gallo began his career with
the Long Beach Police Department as an officer
in 1997. He promoted to sergeant in 2004, to lieutenant in 2021, and to commander in 2023.

Commander Gallo has worked an array of assignments throughout his time with the LBPD including Patrol, Field Training Officer, and in the Information Technology Division. As a sergeant, he was assigned to Office of Community Oriented Public Safety, Patrol, Internal Affairs, and Advanced Officer Training Cadre Sergeant.
Commander Gallo was most recently assigned to backgrounds, hiring and recruitment as a lieutenant. He recently promoted to commander in June 2023.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science from California State University, Pomona and a Master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Commander Gallo is a graduate of the University of Southern California Executive Leadership Program. He has been presented with multiple awards throughout his career.
