Collaborative Response Division Commander

Commander Jeremy Boshnack began his career with the Long Beach Department as a police recruit in 2007. He was promoted to sergeant in 2017, to lieutenant in 2022, and to commander in 2024.

Commander Boshnack has worked a variety of assignments including the Directed Enforcement Team, Coordinated Response Team sergeant, Gun Violence Reduction Team sergeant, Gang Detail sergeant, patrol lieutenant, watch commander, and High Crime Focus Team lieutenant.

Throughout his career, Commander Boshnack has worked to address gun violence in the City of Long Beach. He was awarded Employee of the Year in 2015 for his tenacious fieldwork to reduce violent crime and, since then, has spearheaded numerous projects to take illegal guns off the streets.

Commander Boshnack holds a Master of Arts degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Long Beach. He is a veteran of the US Army, the California Army National Guard, and a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
