Youth & Community Engagement Administrator

Administrator Hansen-Guerra was appointed as the Department’s Community Engagement Administrator in March 2023. Administrator Hansen-Guerra oversees the operations of the Youth and Community Engagement Division.

Prior to joining the Long Beach Police Department,
Administrator Hansen-Guerra brings over twenty years of
community engagement experience and has previously
worked for the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, the State of Illinois Department of Human Services, Chicago Children’s Museum, Northeastern Illinois University (Chicago Teachers’ Center) – G.E.A.R. UP Federal Grant Program, and CulturArte LA. She has experience securing funding for the Chicago Police Department and Fire Department Cadet programs through her work with
Chicago Public Schools. Administrator Hansen-Guerra has experience developing and implementing community partnership initiatives such as Latino Neighborhoods Initiatives, Free Family Night, Passport to the World and other city-wide projects. Administrator Hansen-Guerra held several appointment positions for the City of Chicago Mayor’s Council including Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Councils as well as Vision Zero along with the Participatory Budget Chicago Steering Committee.

Administrator Hansen-Guerra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Law Political Science with
minors in Women and Gender Studies and Latin American Studies from University of
Illinois at Chicago.
