Cynthia Zarate
Information Management Administrator
Administrator Zarate was appointed as the Department’s Information Management Administrator in September 2022. Administrator Zarate oversees the maintenance of all Police records and automated information systems, including policy compliance with audit requirements for the accuracy, security, and operational use of the Criminal Justice Information System data.Administrator Zarate joined the Department in 2008 as a
Clerk Typist III for the Records Division, and later promoted to Administrative Aide II for the Office of the Chief of Police. Prior to her appointment, Administrator Zarate served as an Administrative Analyst III for the Records Division, where she supervised a unit responsible for the Department’s crime reporting to the California Department of Justice.
Administrator Zarate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from California State
University, Long Beach and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California
State University, Northridge. Administrator Zarate has participated as a mentor at Washington Middle School for the My Brother’s Keeper/Safe Long Beach Mentoring Program
