The Internal Affairs Division is responsible for investigating allegations of misconduct involving any member of the Police Department. Investigators are Police Department supervisors who receive specialized training in conducting personnel investigations. The investigative process is meant to provide a thorough, fair and objective review of misconduct allegations made by the public.
The Chief of Police has a legal mandate to ensure procedures exist for investigating complaints made by members of the public against Police Department personnel.
All allegations of misconduct are thoroughly and objectively investigated to maintain integrity within the organization and the trust and confidence of the community we serve, which has been developed through many years of hard work and dedication.
