The Youth & Community Engagement Division is responsible for the Business Desk operations and volunteer opportunities.
Public Safety Building Business Desk
The Business Desk staff provide information pertaining to inmates, answer inquiries regarding public safety, crime, and department procedures as well as other services. They file police reports such as lost personal articles, auto burglaries, and identity theft. Reports are limited to those where the victim can provide no suspect information. All other reports should be made by calling either 9-1-1 in an emergency or LBPD Dispatch at (562) 435-6711.

National Night Out - Tuesday, August 4, 2026
The Long Beach Police Department is proud to partner with neighbors, community groups, and businesses to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
Join us by hosting a block party, festival, cookout or other community event. LBPD personnel will stop by as resources allow!

Summer Park Activations - Wednesdays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Long Beach Police Department invites the Long Beach community to join us for free family fun in the parks this summer!
Every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., enjoy bounce houses, face painting, ice cream, educational opportunities, and a chance to connect with LBPD officers in a safe, welcoming environment.
