Long Beach Community Band 2025
In the early 1940s James E. Son established the Long Beach Veterans Band, to give veterans who were returning World War II a place to make music together. By 1947, the Veterans Band expanded to include non-veteran musicians and became the Long Beach Community Band. Now in its 71st year, the Long Beach Community Band provides a wind ensemble experience for volunteer musicians of all ages and performs a variety of music at events in Long Beach and around Southern California.
