Older Adults Program

Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine invites seniors of all ages 50+ to participate in the many activities and programs offered citywide at the six senior centers. Activities, events and programs offered through the Older Adults Program range from arts and cultural experiences, dance, fitness, life-long learning opportunities, enrichment, health and social services, nutrition, excursions, drop-in and special events, volunteerism and special interest groups.

September is National Senior Center Month!

Join us all month long as we host special activities at each of our locations. Visit all centers during the events and have your participation card marked. Those who attend all events will be invited to a special event at the end of September!

• Thursday, Sept. 3, 10 to 11 a.m. - Sketch Class and Art Gallery at Expo Center (4321 Atlantic Ave.)
• Thursday, Sept. 10, noon to 2 p.m. - Mad Hatter Trivia! Wear your favorite hat and enjoy trivia, light refreshments and tea at El Dorado Park West Community Center (2800 N. Studebaker Rd.)
• Tuesday, Sept. 15, noon to 2:30 p.m. - Fiesta with Mariachi Orgullo de UCI and more at Long Beach Senior Center (1150 E. 4th St.)
• Friday, Sept. 18, noon to 2 p.m. - Casino and Karaoke Day at Silverado Park Community Center (1545 W. 31st St.)
• Friday, Sept. 25, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. - Zumba class at Cal Rec Center McBride Park (1550 Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave.)
• Mystery End of September Celebration! Bring your activity card to the Zumba class to get details!
