May 1 - Sound Bath & Nature Walk
Immerse yourself in the soothing vibrations of Divine Sound Baths. Let healing frequencies guide you to a state of deep peace and renewal. Let the calming sounds of ocean waves, gentle rain and sacred healing bowls wash over you, releasing stress and restoring balance. This meditative journey helps quiet the mind, uplift the spirit and realign your energy. Following the Sound Bath, you’ll have the opportunity to walk the trails to explore the Nature Center in its entirety, plus check out the museum and gift store. The day will end with provided snacks and friendly conversations. Pre-registration not required.

May 4 - May the Fourth Kickoff Dance
Join us for a nostalgic Star Wars and 70s themed dance that celebrates the era where a galaxy far, far away first met the disco floor! Bring back the vibrant energy of the disco era by wearing bright colors and your spunkiest outfit or Star Wars wardrobe, and get ready for a night of dancing, great food, photo opportunities, costume contests and more!

May 6 - Sustainable Independence Resource Fair
Join us for a day of resources and information tailored to the needs of older adults, including housing support, renters’ and utilities assistance and more! Hosted in collaboration with The Aging Services Collaborative, Heart of Ida, OLLI at California State University, Long Beach, and Dignity Health Low Vision Clinic* at St. Mary’s, with additional sponsorship from the Port of Long Beach. Food will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Opportunity drawings will be offered for a chance to win a free membership to OLLI at CSULB and more.

We’re excited to invite you to participate in our friendly, rotating partner round robin Pickleball Tournament! This is a great opportunity to get active, have friendly competition and lots of fun! Medals will be awarded to First, Second and Third Place teams in both men’s and women’s divisions. If you do not wish to play, you’re invited to come out and watch the games and cheer for the teams! May 12 - Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month
Commemorate Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AANHPI), recognizing the historical and cultural contributions of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, with the Long Beach Older Adults Program. AAPI Heritage Month was permanently designated as an annual nationwide celebration in 1992. As we continue to celebrate Older Americans Month, join us to enjoy an eventful day with performances that showcase and highlight Cambodian music, dance, arts and other performances from other AANHPI groups. Join us for our first-ever Older Americans Month field trip to the LA County Fair! Celebrate this year’s fair theme, Play Your Way, with delicious food, classic attractions, small-business shopping, and live entertainment for every interest.
