California Coastal Cleanup 2023

El Dorado Nature Center is partnering with the California Coastal Commission to celebrate California Coastal Cleanup Day at five cleanup sites in Long Beach. This year’s sites include Alamitos Bay Marina, Mother’s Beach, the Peninsula, Belmont Pier, and Junipero Beach. Joining us as site captains are Seal Beach Yacht Club, Algalita, Aquarium of the Pacific, and LA Waterkeeper.

We invite you to participate in this great collaborative event. As a community, we can make a positive impact on the health of our local coastline.

Saturday, September 23, 2023.

Participating is easy – all you have to do is show up at any of our sites and sign in!

We have five sites in Long Beach:

  • Alamitos Bay Marine (255 N. Marina Drive at the Seal Beach Yacht Club)
  • Mother’s Beach (5839 Appian Way)
  • The Peninsula (72nd Pl and Ocean Blvd)
  • Belmont Pier (End of Termino Ave at Ocean Blvd)
  • Junipero Beach (End of Junipero Ave at Ocean Blvd)

All participants must sign a liability waiver form. Waivers will be available at each site, you can print out your own and bring it with you, or you can sign a digital waiver and bring proof on your phone to show at the registration table.

Bags and gloves will be provided at each site. Parking will be free for the duration of the event.

We encourage everyone to bring a reusable bag or bucket and a pair of old gardening or work gloves to pick up trash. You can be creative and repurpose a milk jug or box into a trash-collecting container. This will help us limit the amount of trash we create.
