For those seeking this alternative, this facility offers an extremely enjoyable 18-hole round of par 3 golf. With holes ranging from 85 to 140 yards, two water hazards and numerous sand traps, this course will test the skills of the most seasoned player, as well as remain exceptionally enjoyable for the beginner. This fully lighted course also boasts of its excellent practice range, full size chipping and putting greens, full service restaurant and a professionally staffed pro shop.

Golf Programs

Long Beach Little Linksters

July 12-16 and 19-23 at Heartwell Golf Course. This fun program is for ages 8-13 who do not own golf equipment. Youth should not have golfed or had golf lessons. Youth must write and submit a one-age letter expressing the reason that they would like to be in the program. Youth must have perfect attendance at the week-long clinic in order to keep the golf equipment. Golf Clubs - $85 Fee. Scholarships available. Long Beach Junior Golf

What started as a few junior golfers at Heartwell Golf Course, has now grown into the premier grass roots junior golf program in Southern California with some 400 juniors involved. Offered to ages 7 to 17, children are taught how to play, the rules of the game, and golf etiquette. The program has now expanded to include a Junior Golf Academy building located next to the Heartwell Golf Course site. For more information, call (562) 570-1272.

Long Beach Golf Festival

Consisting of seven tournaments of men and women, juniors and seniors, professionals and amateurs, this yearly festival culminates with the Long Beach Open at El Dorado Golf Course. Also included as part of this golf package are the Long Beach Open Charity Pro/Am; Match Play; Senior Amateur; Women's City; Men's City; & Tom Crosby Memorial Junior Golf Championships.
