History

The Dennis Williams Greenway runs alongside Second Street between E. Marina Drive and Alamitos Bay. The .71-acre scenic site was named for former Marine Maintenance Storekeeper, Dennis William who passed away in 2009.

Boaters on their way to the Davies Launch Ramp pass the landscaped area with trees and a bench where one can rest and take in the surroundings. The Marine Maintenance headquarters is down the road that runs by the greenbelt, so many employees are reminded of their friend as they come and go to work.

The bench donated by coworkers and friends has a plaque that states, Mr. Williams was a “man of character, sincerity and wisdom; a true friend and in our hearts forever.”
