Atlantic Plaza is controlled partly by the County of Los Angeles and partly by the City of Long Beach. There are park benches and green open spaces maintained by Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine and there are tennis courts and a recreation center maintained by the County. Parks, Recreation & Marine uses the recreation facility as a focal point for the Summer Food Service Program.

History

This city-owned park has been located at 52nd Street and Atlantic Avenue inside the Los Angeles County Housing Authority Carmelitos project since 1974. The site is leased to the County Housing Authority for the recreational needs of its residents and includes a soccer field, passive recreational areas, a recreation center for Carmelitos residents and a community garden.
