This mini park adds a beautified open space area to neighborhood for relaxation and community events.

The land for Alamitos Heights Park at E. Colorado Street and Orlena Avenue was acquired by the City of Long Beach from oil producing companies in 1923.  The 1.31-acre park is a landscaped open space area between Colorado Lagoon to west and Marina Vista Park to the south. The site was developed as a park along with homes in the area beginning in the early 1960s.

Members of the Alamitos Heights Improvement Association (AHIA) hold events at the park including their annual 5k Fun Run and Picnic, and holiday toy drives and snow days events.
