Marine Advisory Commission

Members of the Marine Advisory Commission (MAC) are dedicated members of the boating community and should be commended for their volunteer time and effort. The MAC consists of nine City of Long Beach residents, appointed by the Mayor and City Council, who meet on a monthly basis to consult with and advise the City Council and/or City staff on matters regarding City policies pertaining to marinas, beaches, waterways, and near shore areas. According to the MAC By-Laws, the commissioners also study and analyze, for the purpose of evaluation and recommendation, policies and problems referred to by the City Council and /or City staff. Term of office is two years, not to exceed eight years, for each commissioner. The City has three beautiful landmarks named after former MAC commissioners.
