Alamitos Beach
780 E Shoreline Dr.
For convention-goers, visitors to the Aquarium of the Pacific, and shoppers at Shoreline Village, Alamitos Beach is the entryway to the City’s namesake long stretch of beaches. Located at the intersection of Shoreline Drive and Alamitos Ave, this is the westernmost section of Long Beach’s complex of beaches, linking downtown to Alamitos Bay via a paved bicycle path and separate pedestrian walking path.
Alamitos Beach is expansive and wide open, with plenty of space and soft sand, ideal for laying out a beach towel and enjoying a sunny afternoon. Volleyball courts are available and free for all to use. The concession stand at the head of the beach provides food, drinks, and beach rentals including beach cruisers, tandem bikes, and 3-to-6-person surrey bikes, as well as roller blades, fishing rods, umbrellas, volleyballs, and beach chairs. Skim boards are also available to ride the gentle waves this beach enjoys thanks to being shielded by the nearby Port of Long Beach and the offshore breakwater.
Metered parking is available in the lot behind the beach, or at nearby Marina Green Park. Marina Green Park is often used for marathons and festivals so on any given day there could be something new and exciting to attend.
Public restrooms with rinse showers are located at the head of the beach, near the concession stand.
