Long Beach Unified School District Updates
Operational Update for Mon, Jan 13, 2025
Normal school operations have resumed. Health-vulnerable individuals will be monitored.

Long Beach City Services Updates
There are no disruptions in City Services. Street sweeping will continue as planned. All parking meters continue to be enforced. All city offices and buildings remain open during normal operating hours.
The drinking water distribution system in Long Beach has not experienced any disruptions in service and all the fire hydrant systems throughout the City remain fully operational.
Long Beach Utilities performs 60,000 water quality tests annually to monitor the quality and ensure the safety of drinking water. Long Beach has a state-of-the-art groundwater treatment plant and four water quality laboratories that are certified by the California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program. The department conducts weekly drinking water quality testing at 56 locations throughout the city. If customers have questions about their water quality, they may call the Long Beach Utilities Department, Water Quality Division at 562-570-2479 or read our Annual Water Quality Report at www.lbutilities.org/waterquality.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to those affected by the recent wildfires. In these challenging times, your support can provide critical resources and assistance to those in need.
California Community Foundation
The City of Long Beach is partnering with the California Community Foundation to support Los Angeles County wildfire victims and evacuees. The City is asking those who are able in our community, to please provide charitable monetary donations online through California Community Foundation or by texting LB2LA to 707070.

Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation
They are raising funds to equip LAFD members with the necessary tools and supplies, including emergency fire shelters, hydration backpacks, and wildland brush tools.
Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
The Food Bank is accepting monetary donations and food donations at their two distribution centers from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. located at: 1734 East 41st Street, Los Angeles, California 90058 and 2300 Pellissier Place, Industry, CA 90601
The American Red Cross
The Red Cross is seeking monetary donations to aid wildfire victims and support their recovery efforts.
The Salvation Army
They are accepting monetary donations and in-kind items to assist those affected. If you're able to volunteer, reach out to your local Salvation Army to offer your help to those impacted by the wildfires.
Habitat For Humanity for Greater Los Angeles
Habitat LA is launching ReBUILD LA®, a long-term emergency response campaign, to assist those affected to rebuild their homes, relocate to other housing, provide essential supplies, and restore their lives.
Please note that the City has received reports from the areas directly impacted by the fires in LA County that donations of materials and supplies are not needed at this time. Monetary donations are preferred.
