Study Space
Reading areas, tables, and computers are available on a first come, first served basis at all Long Beach Public Library (LBPL) locations to provide space for you to relax, research, study, and enjoy Library materials.
Some LBPL locations provide dedicated Study Rooms to allow for quiet or collaborative work styles.
Available Spaces
- 3 Study Rooms for up to 6 people
Amenities
- Access to power outlets
- Monitors with casting capabilities
- Whiteboard with 3 dry erase markers and 1 eraser
Room Rules
- Reservations are for 1 hour
- 1 reservation per group per day
- Do not bring food into the rooms
- Do not leave belongings unattended in rooms
- Please keep your voices low as the walls are thin
- When you leave the room please take all of your books, papers, pencils, etc. with you and push in the chairs
- Conducting business such as paid tutoring, tax preparation, counseling, etc. is not allowed in the Study Rooms
Requirements for Use
- Long Beach Public Library card or I.D. card
- Provide first and last names of every person using the room to staff at the Level 2 Information Desk
- Room Pass (must be picked up at start of reservation and returned when leaving)
- Library and Room Rules are to be followed at all times
Reserving a Room
- Inquire about availability at the Level 2 Information Desk
- Rooms are first come, first served
- Rooms can only be reserved on the day of the reservation. Call (562) 570-7500 or stop by the Information Desk
- Rooms must be claimed within 10 minutes of the reservation time
- Special exceptions may be considered for groups at the discretion of the Librarian
Available Spaces
- 1 Study Room in the Teen area for up to 6 people
- 1 Quiet Room in the Adult area for up to 6 people
Amenities
- Whiteboards, markers, and erasers available upon request
- Study Room has a monitor with VGA and HDMI connection for laptops, cables available to check out upon request
Room Rules
- Sessions up to 1 hour
- 1 session per group per day

- If you use the whiteboard, please erase it before you leave and return markers and eraser to the Information Desk
Requirements for Use
- Library Card is required to use the space
- Names of all group members required at the Information desk
- By using the room you agree to rules provided during check in
- You are responsible for your belongings
Using the Rooms
- Inquire about availability at the Information Desk
- Rooms are first come, first served, with priority given to library programs
- Library cards are held at the Information Desk while the room is in use
- Rooms close 15 minutes prior to Library closing
- Special exceptions may be considered for groups at the discretion of the Librarian
