ASL Courses in Digital Library

A mobile device screen displaying the ASL courses in the Mango app.

The Long Beach Public Library now offers American Sign Language (ASL) courses through Mango Languages.

ASL is a rich and expressive language that uses hand signs and gestures to communicate with people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Mango’s unique ASL courses were created in collaboration with ASL Inside and include:

  • A “Magic Mirror” video feature to compare your gestures with native signers in real time.
  • Diverse sign models to introduce you to different ASL accents.
  • Practical lessons on basic conversations in ASL.
  • Culture notes, grammar notes, and vocabulary lessons.

Happy signing!
