The Los Altos Neighborhood Library will be closed for facility maintenance beginning Thursday, June 15 and is anticipated to reopen on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. This closure is needed to prepare the facility for a scheduled HVAC replacement project.

LBPL adds hoopla to the Digital Library

We recently added some hoopla collections to the Digital Library! Comics, Movies, TV shows, Music, and a couple Binge Passes were added on April 1. Titles can be downloaded or streamed and have check out periods that range from 3 to 21 days. 

  • Comics – hoopla is known for their e-comics collection and their awesome mobile reader. The reader allows patrons to read by frame or by page when using a mobile device. Look for titles by Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Papercutz, and other well-known (and not-so-well-known) publishers. 

  • Movies – classics, international, children’s, documentaries, and small studios are all covered in the extensive movie selection. 

  • TV Shows – Like British TV? How about series from Acorn or Sundance Now? MasterClass, Nickelodeon, BBC, PBS Kids, and so many more are available on demand! 

  • Music – Rock, pop, R & B, HipHop, Country, international, and other genres and styles are available in the hoopla music catalog. Download, stream, or shuffle entire albums. 

  • Binge Passes – Curiosity Stream, Kids' Books in Action, and Learn 2 Read are available through the Binge Pass which gives unlimited access for a week for one check out. 

Hoopla can be found in the Digital Library is free to use on any computer or mobile device inside or outside the libraries.A LBPL card is required. Patrons have 4 checkouts per month. Movies and TV check out for 3 days; Music and Binge Passes check out for 7 days; Comics check out for 21 days. An app is available for Android, iOS, and Kindle. Don’t have a LBPL card? It is easy to get one. 

eBooks and eAudiobooks are not available on hoopla but can be found in the ebook resources.
