Early Learning Fair 2025

The Long Beach Public Library invites caregivers and their children to the Early Learning Fair on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 from 1:00–4:00 PM at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library.

The Early Learning Fair is a free event for families interested in enrolling their children in an early learning program. Families will have the opportunity to meet with local early learning centers and get information on registering for the programs.

The event will feature 3 workshops: an early math workshop, a workshop on social and emotional learning, and a workshop on how to support children with speech therapy. There will also be crafts for families to work on together.

Attend one workshop and visit every resource table to receive a "Ready for Kindergarten" backpack (while supplies last). Children should be present to receive their backpack.

  • 1:15 PM – Speech Therapy Workshop & Storytime with Mika Storey

Dive Into Learning Program

Families with children ages 0 to 5 are encouraged to join Dive Into Learning, LBPL’s early learning program. Dive Into Learning encourages families to read 1,000 books with their children before they enter kindergarten, provides activities and workshops to get little ones ready for school, and supports caregivers as their children’s first teachers.

Signing up is easy! Create your account on LBPL's Beanstack site, or download the Beanstack app, then register for the Dive Into Learning challenge.

Registration is not required for the event. Contact the Children's Information Desk at (562) 570-5455 for more information.
