Beginning Monday, August 28, 2023, the Alamitos, Harte, and Michelle Obama Neighborhood Libraries will offer an additional day of service on Mondays.

As of Monday, August 14, the Bay Shore Neighborhood Library will temporarily close for a scheduled renovation. All services at Bay Shore, including book drops, will be unavailable.

6 Day Service Launches at 3 Locations

Beginning Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, the Long Beach Public Library (LBPL) will offer an additional day of service on Mondays at three neighborhood library locations – Alamitos, Harte, and Michelle Obama Neighborhood Libraries.

Alamitos* (1836 E. Third St.), Harte (1595 W. Willow St.), and Michelle Obama (5870 Atlantic Ave.) Neighborhood Libraries will operate six days a week under the schedule listed below:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, noon to 7 PM
  • Wednesdays, noon to 6 PM
  • Fridays and Saturdays, 10 AM to 5 PM

Burnett (560 E. Hill St.) and El Dorado (2900 Studebaker Rd.) Neighborhood Libraries are anticipated to begin Monday operations in late September and will follow the same six-day schedule noted above.
