The Creativity Lab is a growing community of creative, collaborative, and empathetic individuals who will be ready to take on the challenges of today and tomorrow.
Arts-integrated experiences allow students to learn a wide range of topics like journalism, culture, arts, and technology. Students will use different tools and mediums like sculpture, watercolor, drawing, and various building and design materials. Throughout the sessions students will have the opportunity to create and design for themselves, their friends, and folks from the community.
Our team of educators is made up of passionate community members who are excited to teach and eager to learn and grow.
Pre-service teachers from CSULB will guide students through the entire 10-week experience, teaching foundational 21st century skills and design thinking concepts.
Our guest educators are artists, creators, and designers who bring a broad range of knowledge, skills, experiences, and expertise to the program.
The registration period for the 2023 fall session of SEED has ended.
Participants will register for a 10-week series. We highly recommend that participants attend as many of the workshops as possible to get the most out of the program. After three uncommunicated absences, participants will be dropped from the session.
The Story of SEED
SEED is a multi-year program hosted by the Long Beach Public Library in collaboration with various community organizations and institutions including Dramatic Results and CSULB. The SEED project seeks to create a vibrant community of makers, learners, and educators.
A Continuing Experience
SEED programs take place throughout the year with sessions offered during summer, fall, and spring at various Long Beach Public Library locations, as well as at collaborating partner locations.
Students are encouraged to continue their educational journey with us throughout the various sessions of our program, growing with us as we continue to expand and cultivate this project in collaboration with our community.
