Today, Long Beach Airport (LGB) was named one of the Top 10 small airports in the country by USA Today readers. LGB continues to be recognized nationally as a unique airport, providing a first-class experience for all travelers.
“Our airport provides travelers with an experience that reflects the diverse and vibrant spirit of Long Beach,” said Mayor Robert Garcia.
After a month-long voting period, LGB scored enough votes from its large fanbase to capture the #10 position in the 2020 USA Today/10Best.com Readers’ Choice poll. This is the latest recognition for the award-winning airport. In recent years, LGB has been awarded Best Airport for Dining in the USA Today/10Best.com Readers’ Choice Poll, Best Food and Beverage Award by Airports Council International – North America and, in 2019, the Art Deco Society of California’s Preservation Award for the historic terminal.
“We are honored that our customers recognize and appreciate our focus on a stress-free and convenient travel experience,” said Airport Director Cynthia Guidry. “This is an achievement for all airport staff and a testament to what makes us unique among airports.”
Among the amenities appreciated by LGB travelers are the 100% local dining options, an open atrium with palm trees and sunshine, a relaxing atmosphere with a garden and fire pit and the congestion-free trip from the curb to the gate.
