F/A-18 Operations This Weekend

F/A-18 Aircraft

The U.S. Marine Corps has informed Long Beach Airport that two F/A-18 aircraft will be conducting training operations at Long Beach Airport this weekend. We anticipate that these aircraft will arrive Friday, June 26 and depart shortly after their arrival. The two F/A-18 aircraft will return to Long Beach Airport on Saturday and Sunday (June 27 and June 28) to conduct a few additional training operations before departing late in the afternoon on Sunday, June 28. All times are tentative and subject to change. This information is also being shared via WebTrak and social media.

Please note that these military aircraft are exempt from our noise regulations. However, the military has been very responsive to community concerns, within the constraints of achieving their mission and flight safety. The aircraft will use noise abatement procedures when operating in the vicinity of Long Beach, such as modified arrival and departure flight profiles and a minimum use of afterburners.
