Long Beach Airport announces the reopening of Runway 7L-25R for aircraft operations on Thursday, April 16 at 4:00 p.m.
The modernization of 7L-25R is extremely important to airport operations. Improvements made will enhance safety and extend the life of the runway for approximately 30 years. Reopening the runway will increase the number of active runways from two to three and will relieve traffic on the airport’s other runways.
The runway has been closed for reconstruction since February 2014, and the community is advised that aircraft operations will be reinstated in an area that hasn’t experienced aircraft activity in over a year.
