The Southern California Aviation Association (SCAA) Aviation Career Training Scholarship is open to Southern California residents currently enrolled or accepted into an accredited two-year college or four-year university who are studying aviation related curricula.

Applicants must have a minimum 2.50 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have completed flight training through at least the private pilot "solo" phase or begun serious studies in another aviation discipline (e.g. aircraft maintenance or air traffic control). Preference may be given to applicants with a demonstrated level of community service and/or to those with current or previous military service.

This scholarship may be used for aviation career training, tuition and books. The recipient must designate a college, university or flight training institution and scholarship funds will be drafted directly to the recipient's school of choice. Award amounts may vary at the discretion of SCAA, but it is anticipated that multiple scholarships of about $3,000 may be awarded. For consideration, the application must be completed and submitted to SCAA no later than 5:00 PM Pacific time, March 15, 2013.
