Purchase Compost Bins

Compost bins are available for Long Beach residents to purchase at a reduced price. There are currently three types of bins available. The Earth Machine and Presto GeoBin are ideal for backyard composting of yard debris and food scraps. The Can-O-Worms bin is used for vermicomposting. 

All compost bin sales are final. If you have not attended a Learn to Compost workshop, please watch this workshop recording to ensure you are choosing the right composting method for you. You can watch the workshop recording in English or Spanish. 

**All compost bins are currently limited in stock. Residents interested in purchasing a compost bin can sign up to be placed on our waiting list. As orders are filled, you will be contacted by staff for your purchase.

Earth Machine | Price: $45.00

With its simple, two-piece assembly, the Earth Machine will have you composting in just minutes. It has a tight, twist-locking lid and firm attachment to the ground to ensure stability and rodent-free security. The Earth Machine is made of a minimum of 50% post-consumer recycled matererials and has all-season strength and weatherability that guarantees it longevity. It measures at 33" x 33" and holds up to 80 gallons of compost.  



Presto GeoBin | Price: $15.00 

The Presto GeoBin Composting System is an economical composting solution that can be easily assembled in minutes. The Presto system’s engineered design provides excellent composting speed by its unique structure which allows more air, heat, and moisture to reach the food scraps and yard waste. Lightweight rugged plastic creates an instant composting system that can adjust to over 3 feet in diameter.

Worm Cafe | $45.00

The Worm Cafe will let you keep an abundance of wriggling compost makers (up to 20,000) content, contained and occupied as they break down green material into a nutrient-rich garden booster. The Worm Cafe lets you add kitchen scraps, grass clippings and weeds easily and cleanly. The sturdy, compact design allows excellent airflow while preventing leaking and controlling odors and pests. Roughly 1,000 Red Wigglers are all you need to get started. It measures 22.44” L x 15.35” W” x 29.53” and holds 20 gallons.
