Important Role as a CRA

  • You are bridging the gap between awareness and action by motivating communities, friends, families, co-workers, etc. to reduce waste in their homes and/or workplace
  • You are demonstrating sustainable behavior (creating social norms)
  • You are enhancing the ability of the City to reach more people through the creation of a network that educates about composting, recycling, and waste reduction (ability to become a community ambassador)

  • Volunteer Hours Reporting

    Community members are required to complete and report a minimum of 25 volunteer hours within the training year period. Volunteering can include:

    • Volunteering with a community organization that aligns with our program goals
    • Education and outreach at events with City Staff
    • Hosting or supporting virtual/in-person presentations with City Staff
    • Identifying your own volunteer opportunity that aligns with our program goals

    The key thing to remember when volunteering is that we want you to participate in an activity where you are educating others on waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and/or composting.

    Upcoming volunteer opportunities will be posted under "Volunteer Opportunities" or added to MyImpactPage.com. 

    • View the Volunteer Portal Guide for instructions on how to log into the volunteer portal, view opportunities, and report your hours. 

    You will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to identify and complete your volunteer hours. Use the button below to report your volunteer hours.

    *Signing up for an event is important and allows us to communicate with the organization coordinator and let them know you are coming. Some organizations have limited capacity for volunteers. 

    Continuing Education Opportunities

    Continuing education assignments provide an opportunity for you to keep your skills and knowledge up to date while also gaining new knowledge. Up to five hours of continuing education credit can count toward the required volunteer hours. Each assignment completed will count as one volunteer hour. Below are the current assignments available with more to come. Please read the assignment directions carefully.

  • Reportando tus horas de voluntario

    Se requiere que los miembros de la comunidad completen y reporten un mínimo de 25 horas de voluntariado dentro de un año. Puede incluir:

  • Oportunidades para continuar tu educación
