Release Date: 2023-08-09
Long Beach Utility Services — Long Beach Water Department, Energy Resources Department (now Long Beach Utilities), and Public Works’ Environmental Services Bureau — have collaborated on a school environmental education program since 2019, to provide educational assemblies and performances at Long Beach schools at no cost.
Building upon the success of the past four years and expanding our reach in Long Beach schools, two new environmental education programs will be offered for the 2023-2024 school year for grades K-6.
The first program led by Grades of Green will focus on building a meaningful presence in schools to promote sustainable practices and lifelong habit changes among Long Beach youth.
