The City is Now Accepting ADU Plans from Design Professionals

The City is seeking local design professionals and firms to provide prototype accessory dwelling unit (ADU) plans and/or manufactured ADU designs that can be made available for use by property owners in Long Beach in an effort to help streamline the ADU approval process.

To qualify for the Program, design professionals must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Be a licensed California architect or engineer
Be local to the Long Beach area and hold a place of practice in Los Angeles County or Orange County
Submit up to two (2) single-story, freestanding ADU designs of up to 1,200 sq. ft. each

The deadline to submit plans is Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
