The City Council has taken new action to further extend an emergency ordinance that temporarily halts evictions for renters. On July 29, 2020, the Long Beach City Council voted to extend until Sept. 30, 2020 the ordinance that halts evictions for residential and certain commercial tenants affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
