Additional Information
Choosing the right ladder for the job and ensuring proper set up can help avoid injury. Ladder safety is also important for our building inspectors when conducting inspections.
Before scheduling an appointment for an inspection, contractors and/or property owners are required to ensure that building inspectors have safe access to any area being inspected, which may include providing working ladders in good condition, adequate lighting and a clean area. If City inspectors cannot safely access required areas, the building inspection will be rescheduled for a later date when all safety requirements can be met.
