Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)

The Long Beach Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a secure database used by service providers throughout the Long Beach Continuum of Care (CoC) to record information about individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. HMIS helps coordinate care, connect people to the right resources, and avoid duplicate services.

The Long Beach HMIS is also linked with neighboring jurisdictions, including Los Angeles and Orange County, allowing for regional data sharing and collaboration. This connection helps ensure that people who move between jurisdictions can access services without interruption and that agencies across the region can work together more effectively.

All information entered into HMIS is kept strictly confidential and is only shared with authorized service providers to improve care and support for people experiencing homelessness.

By tracking services and outcomes, HMIS helps the City and its partners better understand homelessness, improve service delivery, and evaluate the effectiveness of local and regional programs.
