Internship / Volunteer Opportunities

The Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (Health Department) offers a limited number of internships to individuals each year in the following areas:

• Community Health
• Communicable Disease Control/Epidemiology
• Public Health Emergency Management
• Environmental Health
• Homeless Services

An internship with the Health Department is a great way to gain knowledge about public health while acquiring valuable workplace experience.  Internship opportunities are dependent on need and area of specialization.
