Long Beach, CA – The City of Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (Health Department) is offering free flu vaccinations for people experiencing homelessness, available at Mobile Access Center (MAC) locations and the Multi-Service Center (MSC) on select dates over the coming weeks. This is part of the City's ongoing effort to offer more accessible public health services for people experiencing homelessness, who are inherently at higher risk of developing more severe complications from the flu.

Flu vaccinations will be available at the City’s MAC on the following days, while supplies last:

  • Thursday, Oct. 26, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
    • Drake/Chavez Soccer Fields (903-999 Fairbanks Ave.); MAC will be parked facing Los Angeles River near the parking lot located on De Forest Avenue just south of the soccer fields.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 31, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
    • Christian Outreach in Action (515 E. 3rd St.), parked on Linden Avenue
  • Wednesday, Nov. 1, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
    • In the area of Billie Jean King Main Library (200 W. Broadway) and Lincoln Park, parked on Ocean Boulevard.

Flu vaccinations will also be offered at an upcoming clinic taking place at the Multi-Service Center (1301 W. 12th St.) on Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., while supplies last. People experiencing homelessness may also receive a free flu vaccination at any of the City-run vaccination sites and community clinics.
