CALIFORNIA  ACCIDENTAL RISK PREVENTION (CALARP) PROGRAM


The CUPA CalARP program is a California initiative that aims to prevent chemical accidents and safeguard communities and the environment from hazardous substances. Under this program,
businesses that handle hazardous substances must develop and implement Risk Management Plans (RMPs) to prevent accidents and protect public health and safety.

The Long Beach CUPA responsible for enforcing CalARP regulations at the local level, conducting inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The program also provides training and educational resources to businesses and the public, promoting awareness and knowledge about chemical safety. Overall, the CUPA CalARP program fosters a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, making California a safer place for everyone.

SUBMITTALS

All submittals must be made on the California Electronic Reporting System. CERS is the California Electronic Reporting System used by businesses to submit required hazardous materials and waste information to regulatory agencies. It streamlines reporting and improves accuracy, ensuring the safe handling and management of hazardous materials and waste, protecting public health and the environment.
